Networking Works (if YOU Work it!)

Networking has many benefits. The adage of "many hands make light work comes to mind". Also the "total is greater than the sum of its parts". And thus netowrking is a great advantage to use since most of us could use help to do more with less,

Here is a summary of facts that very few would argue:

1) Business owners are BUSY! Often too busy to take care of nurturing business using one or more of the following:
  • A survey to gather feedback, a great testimonial and referrals
  • A followup system to send seasonal reminders or special offers (and again as for referrals)
  • An easy way for referral partners to send leads (along with that personal endorsement
2) Businesses would benefit (generate more business) if there was a way to do all of the above in a simple, cost-effective manner.

HERE IS A SOLUTION!!
All it takes is 3 or more businesses that would refer business to each other in the same target market.

1) Once a job is completed, each business would ask if it would be OK to send a survey to the customer. The PROS are:
  • The customer feels heard
  • The business can get feedback and hopefully glowing testimonials for the website
  • The business now has an email for future followup. The customer can opt in to a "VIP" newsletter send every 1 to 3 months. That would feature several collaborative businesses.
2) A newsletter would go out with seasonal tips or special offers from each business. The PROS are:
  • The customer is exposed to information from more than just the business they already used
  • Each business is exposed to new potential customers
  • Each business pays a fraction of the cost to send newsletters because they are sharing the expense
3) A VIP newsletter signup can also be set up for each business's website. The PROS are:
  • The potential customer can receive information and offers on more than one topic
  • Each business still retains their first-contact list for individual use
  • There is more opportunity because now the marketing efforts been networked!
NOTE: An incentive like a drawing for a gift card can be attached to the survey, newsletter and/or referrals can be used to increase customer retention.

The CONS are...
  • I haven't thought of any..
  • Well, there is the coordination and ensuring surveys and newsletters are sent but there is a solution for that: US!
